Verdun is a very historical city because of the first World War:Verdun's Castle has been haunted by the "gueules cassées " as we say in France.

The battle of Verdun did a lot of death just because nobody wanted to give just a little place to the enemy. In this battle more French soldiers died but they finally won.

Today Verdun is still a beautiful city with its wonderful castle and we can see in the landscape that a war took place here, there are bumps in the forest where the shells exploded. We can also visit a memorial built in memories of people of all countries who died during this battle.
