Verdun
This year, the 3rd form are going to make a trip to Verdun for their school program : the 20th century. Verdun is located in the region of “Lorraine”, in the east of France. In 1916, during world war one, a very long and deadly battle occurred in Verdun : “the battle of Verdun”. During the battle, 140 000 French soldiers and civil peoples died.
The pupils of the 3rd form will discover
everything on this event:
-where?
-when?
-who?
-how?
-which arms? (planes?, tanks?, guns?...)
They will
explore the hills, the trenches and the forts of Verdun. They will visit museums
too.
I think it will be a very good and interesting travel.
